Milan has two main passenger airports. Malpensa (MXP) sits 50 km northwest with two terminals, most low-cost carriers, intercontinental routes, and the Malpensa Express train to Centrale in about 50 minutes. Linate (LIN) lies just 7 km east of the Duomo — a €15 taxi or 25-minute bus reaches the city centre, ideal for short European hops.

Choose MXP for long-haul flights, Ryanair and easyJet bargains, and connections to the US, Middle East, and Asia. Choose LIN for same-day business trips to London City, Paris CDG, or Frankfurt when schedule and ground time matter more than the base fare. Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) is a third budget option 45 km away — factor €10–20 shuttle costs into fare comparisons.

Terminal 1 at MXP handles most Star Alliance and SkyTeam carriers; Terminal 2 serves easyJet and some leisure routes with a free shuttle between buildings. Allow extra time for T2 connections. Linate has a single compact terminal — security is usually faster but parking costs more per hour.

Search both airports on every Milan trip. SnagAFlight defaults to "Milan (all airports)" so you never miss a Linate sale while staring only at Malpensa — or vice versa when MXP long-haul pricing beats a LIN connection through another hub.
